Balanced Armature headsets are getting strong in China

Listening to music through a headset is perhaps one of the most primitive inventions. However, the development of the headsets has not evolved as fast as it should, because people are more interested in the appearance than the sound quality of the headset. Nevertheless, the many different design and acoustic sounds is entirely designed and produced in order to target different people in the market. For instance, some people feels passionate about the music, and will like to listen to quality sound while other people may only spend time listening to the music in their spare time or just as listening to it as some background noise.
 
In AMT we feel it is as a privilege to develop state of the art acoustic products for the headsets to ensure that people will enjoy the great sound experience.
The feeling people experience from using low quality headset is more low-frequency sound. However, to get the perfect sound quality, we need a headset to play the full frequency bandwidth to reach the greatest potential of the sound quality.
Without hard-acoustic engineering work we will only be able to reach basic sound headset and will not be able to bring the highest quality of sound. For in-ear headsets you will often need to have a balance armature receiver/speaker in order to meet people’s expectations for a high quality of sound. For this reason, the most known music artists personally think that Balanced Armature is a marvellous sophisticated headset that will reach a vast popularity now and in the future.
 
Speaking of headset classification, different people may have their own views according to the different wear modes depending if they prefer in-ear, on-ear or over-ear headsets. The different headset manufacturer must choose either dynamic speakers or balance armature receivers technology for their headset.
The dynamic headset contains a moving coil driver and is the most widely known and used form of loudspeaker. In this type of design, the coil is connected directly to a membrane (moving coil design). The coil is located inside a magnetic field and moves when a current is applied to it, which creates a vibration that produce the sound in the headset. In addition, the impedance and sensitivity often determine the quality of the headset and, the higher the sensitivity and the smaller the impedance, the better the headset sounds and the easier it is to interface simple players as smartphones.
The balanced armature headset is a more complex and expensive construction, where the armature (a metal strip) is placed between two magnets and a coil is placed around the armature. The armature tip is positioned exactly in the centre between two magnets (balanced armature). Current through the coil will inject flux into the armature, setting it in motion. A drive pin connected to the armature on one end moves the membrane on the other end producing sound.
Balanced armature headset can be easily placed deep in the ear canal because the unit is much smaller than other drivers. When using this technology, a soft silicone sleeve is used to fit perfectly with the ear. Resulting in, better sound insulation and no sound leakage compared to other drivers.
In appearance, balanced armature is often smaller and more complex. Balanced armature technology provides higher bandwidth, especially in the higher frequency region. Balanced armature technology only works if the output is delivered directly inside the ear canal, otherwise the low frequency (bass) disappears. In most hearing aids and earphones, it is critical that the balanced armature receiver is used in a sealed ear canal for proper performance. As a result, the balance armature will be suitable in small in-ear-monitors, in-ear headphones and semi open structures of a headset.
 
Sometimes the headset can be either dynamic high-resolution speakers or a triple balance armature construction type to reach the peak of perfection of a headset, there is no doubt that balanced armature headset has its inherent value in more stable sound, better sound insulation and hearing protection, and summed up its three major advantages is:
1. more stable sound
the stability of balance armature is unmatched by moving coil. The reason is that the balanced armature units are almost all made of metal materials and shaped by high precision moulds. So, the sound performance of the moving coil units is much more stable.
2. better sound insulation
Compared to the moving coil headphones, the sound effect of balance armature is obviously better in in-ear applications. This is because, the moving coil unit needs more space and air to create the vibration, therefore the sound leakage phenomenon is inevitable. Balanced armature can effectively reduce sound leakage due to the possibility to position it deeper into the ear canal.
3. effective protection of hearing
Balanced armature headset can effectively protect the hearing. As already mentioned, balance armature earplugs generally have a good sound insulation effect, which result in not having to use a high volume of the headset. As a result, it will protect you hearing when listening to music with the balanced armature headset.
 
Today many manufacturers have joined the ranks of the so-called custom headset, the headset is able to customize the balance armature in-ear headset completely according to your ears shape. In this way the balance armature headset is personal, which is possible due to many customized services that AMT provide.
The balance armature should not only be made for minority groups but also for ordinary people. However, the unfortunate about the present technologies are that most people select moving coil speakers due to the lower price and forget the sound quality will be lower too. As a result, they will not have the excellent sound experience that only a balance armature headset can provide.
